On this project we worked with Shannon Group and Shannon Commercial Properties to create a Biodiversity Garden at a prominent location near Shannon Airport, adjacent to the Business Park that would promote and encourage a meaningful dialogue with the local community and schools. It would also provide a restful space which would double as an educational space for children and adults alike.
The local national school were involved from the start with fantastic drawings and ideas coming directly from the students. As many different ideas to promote insect and wild life were included as possible, such as the Bee Hotel, Earthen bank, log Pile, Wildflower meadows and lawns, early flowering bulbs, woodland planting etc..
We have also suggested a maintenance plan for the garden and look forward to seeing the effect of the different maintenance outcomes over the coming years.
