Shannon Free Zone – Entrance Area

At the Airport entrance to the Shannon Free Zone (one of Irelands leading international business parks) we created a colourful and striking all year round landscape scheme that has put this part of Shannon on the map. The scheme is colourful and vibrant not only to humans but also attractive to pollinators and has appropriate planting for the heavy clay soil in this harsh coastal location. A new Starbucks and Jaguar Range Rover research centre were new neighbours at the time of the new entrance facelift, this was an exciting time to be part of a renewal at the Shannon Free Zone. Many more renovations and newbuilds were to follow, and we are delighted to be part of it.

An integrated lighting scheme, new signage, drainage and parking were all important elements of the scheme. But the planting really was the highlight, beautiful perennials like, Black eyes Susans, Catmint, Giant Oat Grasses all vying for attention. A raised polished black granite planter takes pride of place at the centre of the entrance, with big box balls, alliums and more putting on an exciting show.
